Access Statement for Creathorne Farm B&B

Introduction

Our home is set in a 19th Century renovated Cornish Stone barn on our working family farm. Guests are accommodated in their own wing of our home with separate access, lounge and garden.  All rooms are located on the ground floor. Please read the following statement of our provision and contact us personally if anything is unclear. We are a working farm and are therefore unable to accept dogs.

Pre-Arrival
 • Creathorne Farm is peaceful and fairly remote, and therefore not ideally suited to those travelling without a car.
• The nearest shop is either located at Widemouth Bay (1Mile) or Marhamchurch (1.7miles) or the Town of Bude which is 3 miles away. 
• The nearest railway stations are either Bodmin or Barnstaple.
• There are several local Taxis companies: we can provide telephone numbers or make bookings for you on request.
• Brochures and menus can be provided in large print if required.  We regret that we do not have facilities to prepare documents in Braille.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
 
• Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you. Private parking is available in the level gravel courtyard, immediately opposite the Guest entrance. We offer assistance with luggage to all guests. Access to the house is up one step of 18cm (5"), plus the door threshold which is 3cm (1.25"). There is no hand rail.
There is adequate lighting outside the house.

Guest accommodation – Public areas
 
• the guest area is on the Ground floor. There is one 23.5 cm (9") step with no hand rail from the Hallway into the Lounge/Dining area and entrance to third bedroom.
 • The property has under floor heating throughout, but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.

Lounge and Dining area
• The Hallway and Lounge/dining room has wood laminate flooring.
• The guest Lounge has a comfortable sofa and two Tub chairs.
• We have a large TV with free view channels and a DVD player.

Bedrooms
 
• we have 3 en-suite bedrooms, all are located on the ground floor, and are carpeted throughout, are well lit with overhead, wall, and bedside lights.
• Tea and Coffee making facilities and Bottled water is provided in each room.
• We provide a hair dryer.
• Towels are supplied.
• Our beds are made with non feather Duvets and pillows. Extra blankets and pillows are available on request.
• Each room has 2 chairs, if you request an extra bed or cot, this would then replace a chair.
• There is a folder in each room which contains further information about the property, Farm, and local area, including Pubs and restaurants and emergency contacts including Doctors, Dentists and hospitals.
• Bedroom doors are lockable; guests have their own keys for the duration of their stay.
The measurement of Bedroom door is as follows: 76cm (30in), but when fully open give a clearance of 70cm (27.5in).

Bedroom 1:
• This bedroom can either provide two 3ft single beds or one 6ft double. The bed can be accessed from either side whether it is made up as single beds or a double.
• The room has an en-suite with Shower, WC, and wash basin with light and shaver point.
• Remote control Colour TV with DVD player and radio alarm clock
 
Bedroom 2:
• The room has a 4ft 6in Double bed which can be accessed from either side.
• The room has an en-suite with Shower, WC, wash basin with light and Shaver point.
• Remote control Colour TV with DVD Player and radio alarm clock.

 Bedroom 3:
• The room has a 4ft 6in Double bed which can be accessed from either side.
• The en-suite has a Whirlpool bath with an overhead Shower, WC, and wash basin with light and shaver point.
• Remote control Colour digital LCD TV with free view channels and DVD player and radio alarm clock.

Grounds and Gardens
 
• we have a large lawned Garden which is for guest use only.
 • There are two steps of 13cm and 14.5 cm through the door way leading to the garden and a further small step over the door threshold of 7cm.
• There is a gravel path leading to a gravel patio area with seating.

Additional Information
 
• There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall and another at the end of the Dining area.
• We have a Full zoned Fire Alarm system, all bedrooms and public areas are fitted with Fire and smoke alarms.
• The building can be evacuated via the front door or Garden door.  The windows in each bedroom can also be used as emergency exits as all are located on the ground floor.
• We do not permit smoking in the House, but you may smoke in the Garden or courtyard.  Please request an Ash tray.
• We are happy to refrigerate any medication.
